Run GUI applications and desktops in docker and podman containers. Focus on security.
Going with docker might be easier, because there's x11docker. You'll need to write a Dockerfile that installs dependencies and builds your application, which might seem daunting at first, but is very useful for a developer to have a reproducible build process, and that's what it provides.
