chromebrew
Discontinued Package manager for Chrome OS [Moved to: https://github.com/chromebrew/chromebrew] (by skycocker)
Unfortunately, USB and sdcard storage can only be used for documents, not for any applications or system folders. I've no idea if the built-in 16GB can be removed and replaced (likely soldered onto the motherboard?). If all else fails, there's a little-discussed Linux option to make the native CrOS linuxy system into a full-fledged Linux system onto which you can install additional packages https://github.com/skycocker/chromebrew .
