Try to work on something open source and surely you will get an open source licence from jetbrains. I got mine working on this open source system https://github.com/petrjahoda/system So just think about something, that open source licence I got in about 24 hours after applying for it.

This. Lately I've been using LunarVim which is pretty phenomenal for programming, including golang. That said, this is only really a reasonable approach for someone who already knows vim or is willing to put in the time to learn it. That said, once you do learn it, it will pay you back in spades over the course of a career.
