The tutorial taught you a basic CRUD app and you could do that in far less time in Laravel? Well yeah, the tutorial teaches you the nitty gritty innards, because it's a low level tutorial, if you want a proper framework equivalent to Laravel use KeystoneJS. And even if the ecosystem is not mature enough yet that doesn't mean it's a fad and not viable, it just needs more time, PHP has existed a lot lot longer than Node.
