  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • ox

An independent Rust text editor that runs in your terminal!

Ox looks like a modern take on vi but isn't quite ready yet

  • textadept

Textadept is a fast, minimalist, and remarkably extensible cross-platform text editor for programmers.

Textadept checks almost all the boxes but isn't in most distributions yet

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • micro-editor

A modern and intuitive terminal-based text editor

Micro is kinda nice and nano-y

  • coc.nvim

Nodejs extension host for vim & neovim, load extensions like VSCode and host language servers.

On my local system I use Neovim with coc.nvim for linting and auto/tab complete. It’s the closest I’ve found to VS Code. You can customize keybindings in vim, but the commands for basics aren’t that hard to remember.

  • Notepad3

Notepad like text editor based on the Scintilla source code. Notepad3 based on code from Notepad2 and MiniPath on code from metapath. Download Notepad3:

I prefer the lighter replacements (notepad2, notepad3, metapad) on Windows, simply because Notepad++ seems to always have something to update when I start it on a server. Otherwise it's fine, but not a CLI editor.

  • how-to-exit-vim

Below are some simple methods for exiting vim.
