All of the arguments for GO vs Python are the single binary go provides, the community should settle on 1 and perfect it

  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • PyInstaller

Freeze (package) Python programs into stand-alone executables

  • and keep working on that. Its really the ONLY argument that i've seen about why Go is better than Python. I like to write Go, i despise checking nil all of the time, you can abstract that but you're still doing it. Generics are still a birth feature, which can easily be created in many versions of Python, which allows for more concise and functional code (personal preference for python). So is it http://www.pyinstaller.org/, https://nuitka.net/ etc. Seems like as a community and perhaps it should be a PEP, to have a canonical way to do this.

  • Nuitka

Nuitka is a Python compiler written in Python. It's fully compatible with Python 2.6, 2.7, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, and 3.11. You feed it your Python app, it does a lot of clever things, and spits out an executable or extension module.
