consul
Consul is a distributed, highly available, and data center aware solution to connect and configure applications across dynamic, distributed infrastructure.
So, my tech lead has once more had the sweet whispers of HashiCorp blaring in his ear, and to my irritation has decreed that we will be prioritizing bringing Consul into our environment despite pretty much everything else we have being in various states of rotting popsicle sticks and scotch tape.

InfluxDB
Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

For service mesh, Consul uses Envoy to provide L4 and L7 load balancing for both east-west (sidecar proxy) and north-south (ingress) traffic. Consul supports configuring a number of Envoy’s load balancing algorithms such as round robin, least request, ring hash, maglev, etc (see Load Balancing Services in Consul Service Mesh with Envoy for a tutorial).

HAProxy, Traefik, FabioLB, gobetween, and F5 BIG-IP also support native integrations with Consul for service discovery / service mesh.
