The goal is to let people easily make their existing C code type-safe and eliminate entire classes of errors. Checked C does not address use-after-free errors.   • As far as the language, you can have a language that has failsafes, but C isn't that language. You can extend C to be safer in regards to this stuff, then you might end up with something like Checked C. You could also make a new language that is designed from the beginning to deal with this stuff, then you end up with something like Rust.
