  • Government data (data.gov) is nice because it is usually validated, scrubbed, and well-documented. It's a primary source unlike Kaggle which has compilations from a variety of sources. Kaggle datasets usually require more scrubbing. 538 also shares some data at https://data.fivethirtyeight.com/, but I haven't looked at much of it.
