phpReel is a free, MIT open-source, subscription-based video streaming application that lets you create your platform for distributing content

Keep in mind that you don't have to create amazingly complex projects. If you know how to build a login system, for instance, for an application as simple as showing a message to a logged-in user then you can use the same knowledge to build something greater. Moreover, I would totally advise against big projects. Take for instance my project, phpReel. I worked on it for the past year or so but a lot of the work was represented by tasks that were already familiar to me so I spent a lot of time doing what I already knew instead of learning something new.
