Mnemosyne: efficient learning with powerful digital flash-cards.

  • So i registered to sit for level 3 in May of 2020 (HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA) and began studying in November of 2019 just because I knew that I was kind of slow and that it would take me longer to understand most concepts compared to the above average folk and those that just seem to get it after reading through the content once (envy you!). I studied 2 hours everyday up until mid March when CFAI postponed the exams to December. I really didn't have too much time to dwell on it because I had gotten activated with the Guard and was doing wicked ish (see first image) in NYC. I began studying again in July of 2020, hopeful that I'd be able to sit that December and be done. Fast forward now mid October the exams in NYC get postponed again to May of 2021. Like many of you, the idea of starting/stopping and ramping back up my studying was a burden. With COVID numbers improving in the state of NY and the rollout of CBT, I felt pretty confident the exams would finally take place. So I buckled down again beginning in January, again using MM and CFAI. I also did all blue box and EOC questions. I found a digital flashcard tool which was unbelievably helpful. I did all of CFAI and MM mocks, focusing on how to answer the essay questions. I found MM videos super helpful in describing key words to look in the questions so you know how to construct your response. I sat for the exam and like most times walking out of the testing center, I did not feel too good about my performance. But I had to keep in mind that I was really only focusing on the 2 or 3 questions that completely stumped me, compared to the sections that I felt I did well in.
