currently I'm working on an email client and I have a proof of concept for it over at my github, it's messy, and it's not released ready, but I've successfully (on my local version) used it for a couple of weeks with many limitations.

It would have to be better than vscode/codium with vscode-neovim, which would be a pretty tall task. Being close to vscode on features while being written in a native toolkit with memory and performance improvement instead of electron might get it there for me.

I assume you mean something similar to the GUI menubar in emacs? Currently this isn't possible in rust, which is what we use, but its somewhat possible within vim as well (https://github.com/skywind3000/vim-quickui). Considering vim is very keyboard centric, a gui menu doesn't appeal to me much
