No, a stable driver ABI needs to be implemented at the kernel level. This is something that Linus does not want for a few reasons, one being that it would incentive companies to release binary drivers, instead of open source ones "mainlined" in the Kernel. Already using notepad3 on my systems but that doesn't help when remoting to somewhere else.
I have an nvme drive that produces over a gigabyte per second read with practically no latency, and a Ryzen 5 3600 running at 4GHz and this shit takes SECONDS to even open up, maybe I was using an old buggy version or something but have a read here for some humor: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/10362
