If these files are archived files that you don't use or access frequently you could use borg backup. It is like git but it works with binary data/all types of data, so you can keep a versioned history of your files and the archive will only grow by the size of the new data added. Also provides compression. I use this for versioned backups of stuff like Minecraft saves, virtual machines, etc.
