Recommend Backup Solution For Data

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/linuxquestions

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • BorgBackup

Deduplicating archiver with compression and authenticated encryption.

I can recommend Borg. I was also forced to restore various data from the backups. I also test restoring data regularly (otherwise it is not a backup). In all cases, the data could be restored without any problems. The data can also be verified with Borg. Here, too, there have been no problems so far.

  • Back In Time

Back In Time - An easy-to-use backup tool for GNU Linux using rsync in the back

Anything based on rsync will do fine. E.g. BackInTime: https://github.com/bit-team/backintime

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.
