It seems like Huginn might be perfect for this, but I have personally had poor luck running it (though that might be my fault/environment).
And Calibre-web is a great interface with user support, shelves, web reader, opsd feed for mobile and a plex like theme available.
You can get audiobooks to work in Plex by using the audible metadata plugin
