  • I took a long break from React Native (focusing more on ML-related things) and I had to make some updates to existing apps. I'm finding that many of the packages I have been using haven't been updated in 1+ year, are incompatible with newer versions, and maintainers are no longer accepting PRs (example issue). I'm not sure if this is simply because RN is older now, so there are more packages to be left abandoned, but it also feels like in many cases the abandoned packages are still the go-to option for the community. I don't blame the maintainers at all for this because I sure don't have the time to create a new package and I appreciate the work they're already done for free. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and it might be time to consider other frameworks (ex. SwiftUI).
