I've been using ZeroTier to connect to my dev boxes remotely (it's been great). Yet, I don't like specifying IP addresses if I don't have to (particularly in configuration files) – so I put together ZeroDNS. It uses CoreDNS to handle DNS resolution, ztc to query the ZeroTier API, and a custom script to write a hosts file. I used to achieve this with a cron task that updated /etc/hosts*, but tools like* nslookup don't care about /etc/hosts*, so I can't use this for things like AFP, SMB, and the like.*
