I’ve been a long time Abode user (since the Kickstarter) but I’ve decided to move to something else. I’ve also been one of the primary contributors to the Abode Home Assistant integration these past few years so I’ll be moving on from that as well. One of the reasons I actually taught myself how to program was to be able to contribute to the Abode integration in Home Assistant, so thank you Abode for giving me a reason to learn a new skill and a huge thanks to u/MisterWil for making abodepy and all of your help over the years.
I recently moved to a new home that had a Concord 4 traditional security system with hardwired door/window and motion sensors which I really wanted to utilize. I ended up getting the Konnected Alarm Panel Pro and using the Alarmo custom component for Home Assistant. From there I expose my devices to HomeKit which I use as the primary front end for interacting with our alarm, lights, etc. I’m planning on replacing the Concord 4 keypads with wall mounted Amazon Fire Tablet 8 HDs or iPad Minis and using Home Assistant as the alarm keypad (plus anything else I want to view). Professional monitoring is available through Noonlight if I ever wanted to use it. It’s just exposed as a switch in Home Assistant that I can trigger based on whatever I want.
