How I use my Mac (Apps and Utilities you might need too!)

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on reddit.com/r/MacOS

Our great sponsors
  • Appwrite - The Open Source Firebase alternative introduces iOS support
  • Scout APM - Less time debugging, more time building
  • SonarQube - Static code analysis for 29 languages.
  • redditweaks

A Safari App Extension to help make Reddit suck just a little less on Safari 13+. Written (mostly) in SwiftUI.

Check out Tweaks for Reddit for a RES-like alternative for Safari

  • eul

🖥️ macOS status monitoring app written in SwiftUI.

Would highly recommend Rectangle as a free alternative to Magnet and Eul instead as a free alternative to Menu Bar Stats. Other than that, great list!

  • Appwrite

Appwrite - The Open Source Firebase alternative introduces iOS support. Appwrite is an open source backend server that helps you build native iOS applications much faster with realtime APIs for authentication, databases, files storage, cloud functions and much more!

  • Rectangle

Move and resize windows on macOS with keyboard shortcuts and snap areas

Would highly recommend Rectangle as a free alternative to Magnet and Eul instead as a free alternative to Menu Bar Stats. Other than that, great list!

  • spectacle

Spectacle allows you to organize your windows without using a mouse.

There is also Spectacle on github/brew. Though the author no longer active maintain, I am too used to its 1/2 and 1/3 preset. Maybe one day I will switch to rectangle, I am sticking to spectacle now.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
