  1. CHOMPI

All of the production files, hardware and firmware, that make up the CHOMPI Sampler.

A few days ago Chase Bliss open sourced the CHOMPI Club source code under an MIT license, so I've been working on an AU/VST3/AAX plug-in.

The plug-in includes all the samples so it's a bit heavy, so I decided to add WASM as a compilation target and compile it directly for the browser.

I've built an interactive tutorial and added UX enhancements to make editing it easier.

For those of you who don't know, the CHOMPI Club started off as a Kickstarter

I bought one, and I absolutely love it. The CHOMPI development team was acqu-hired by Chase Bliss (who is a small team that makes incredible, premium guitar pedals), and for reasons unknown they decided to shelf the project and make the code open.

I think they intended other makers to build Daisy seed hardware out of it, but I want to show people how awesome an instrument this is so my goal is to not only make it accessible but to make the UX better and build tutorials around the various modes. Let people play it on the web and download it as a free plug-in if they like it.

Right now, TAPE mode is supported but TEMPO and WAVE modes are working on my development machine and I'm just testing them.

I've been working on this for the past few days all day with GPT 6 Astra Max on /ultrafast.

Right now, we're modelling an Akai S950 circuit to swap out the native CHOMPI sampler code with as an option and we've downloaded data sheets, schematics, and spent 10 hours on testing and getting it in top shape.

Have fun! Feel free to ask any questions.
