As others have mentioned, this is a module specific setting chosen by the module author. You should use a module like DF Settings Clarity to ensure that this is actually a problem in the first place. If you do find a setting that is player modifiable that you feel they should not have access to (keeping in mind that it affects only them, not other players), then you should put in a feature request with the module author to have that behavior changed.
