If you have your rom installed and it's working perfectly, you can now install the Magisk apk. Now you will have to open up your rom (downloaded on your pc) and copy the boot.img file found in the root directory to your phone, the open the magisk app and patch the boot.img following the guide (for xiaomi devices you should just stick with the default options). You will get a patched boot.img, copy it to your pc and once again connect your phone in fastboot mode to your pc and run fastboot flash boot (you should have fastboot and adb installed if you followed the ofrp guide). You will now have to restart your phone and you should have root access.
