I suspect that the answer is "no technical reason why not but no built-in Blender support yet." Here's a feature request for Blender: https://blender.community/c/rightclickselect/BP7n
Unity and Unreal have support via Cesium (Google's docs explain how to use it for their data), but as far as I can tell, the Blender addon for Cesium ( https://github.com/CesiumGS/cesium-ion-blender-addon ) is focused on exporting Blender models to Cesium, not importing data into Blender. Could be wrong, though, not a Blender whiz.
Nonetheless, the format is well-documented ( https://docs.ogc.org/cs/22-025r4/22-025r4.html#toc12 ). Writing something that imports it into Blender looks at first glance to be pretty straightforward as such things go.
oh, wow. we have 3D Tile support in https://thirdroom.io but had only ever found NASA’s Mars dataset as a good set of tiles to point it at. This could effectively turn Third Room into a FOSS, decentralised, E2EE multiplayer Google Earth running over Matrix!
