   what you want is ZSpotify, which will download songs from spotify itself in either MP3 or the original OGG format. it can do individual tracks or playlists, but you'll have to log in (a burner is recommended but i've never had any issues myself)

   Spotify desktop client even uses a .../playplay/ endpoint that returns an obfuscated key with seemingly zero traces of Widevine. (The de-obfuscation code got nuked off of GitHub by Spotify, source.) This implies that Spotify downloading can be unimaginably faster than what even librespot currently does.
