SurveyJS
Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App. With SurveyJS form UI libraries, you can build and style forms in a fully-integrated drag & drop form builder, render them in your JS app, and store form submission data in any backend, inc. PHP, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js.
I don't think we will see any official app like this in the future, although I'd really really like to. There is a QT xournal-like app called MrWriter but it doesn't seems heavily developed (I may be wrong) Otherwise as others suggested rnotes may be your best bet, as it's more polishes than xournal (i prefer xournal however because of the more features and customizability)

At the moment, your best ink experience will be in webapps (save for maybe PDF annotation—haven't tested that). Try tldraw and Excalidraw as PWAs
