  • I mean I feel the pain here for sure. If you are stuck in windows hell any modern tech stack is just painful. Github stole this whole thing from https://coder.com/ and if you want to replicate this without being tied into their nonsense I would highly recommend it. If you aren't on some form of unix (Mac or linux) something like a remote dev experience is almost required. There is a reason that I refuse to work for an org that is going to make my job hard to do and I can guarantee that once your IT team realizes how much flexibility you have in your remote environment they will find a way to make it hell again.
