  • i found this issue on github https://github.com/openzfs/zfs/issues/11386 and it got me curious, while this is just a bit related to my problem, i actually was using ZSTD compression, so i switched to LZ4 and im able to use all ram sticks now without crashes!! so the ZSTD implementation in zfs seems a bit quirky, i choose it in the first place since i read its the best out of both worlds, good compression and fast but since i use older hardware LZ4 is probably better anyway (backups were around 20-30% faster i think, tho it also was dual channel vs single channel ram)
