This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on news.ycombinator.com

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • PDM

A modern Python package and dependency manager supporting the latest PEP standards

  • That's more or less what PEP 582 plans to do, but it's been stalled and mired in discussions for years. The PDM tool went ahead and implemented it though if you want to use it: https://github.com/pdm-project/pdm

  • rtx-python

  • I agree this should be built-in, however in the meantime, I've built what I think is a good solution to this problem into rtx: https://github.com/jdxcode/rtx-python#experimental-virtualen...

I think it offers the best of asdf, pyenv, and direnv. Of course, I would say that, but so far people seem to like using it.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • asdf

Extendable version manager with support for Ruby, Node.js, Elixir, Erlang & more
