You might ask, well if actix-web is 4.x not 1.x, doesn't that mean its API has already made breaking changes? Yes, but for very good reasons over many years. 1.x was pre-async so it was a whole different beast, 2.x was the first async version but with a lot of unsafe, 3.x fixed the majority of unsafe, and 4.x polished up the API based on the now-years of experience along the way. Most of the maturing has already happened for actix, but is still ahead for axum.
