As for the surface typecover, Microsoft unfortunately used a bunch of proprietary entries in the HID record so it's not just a standard keyboard (which would just work). Maximilian Luz does an excellent job maintaining the patches to make things work, but it hasn't been fully upstreamed yet and applying kernel patches is decidedly not user-friendly.
I don't want to be that guy, but Manjaro isn't exactly a good distro.
