Good Pi server build?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/homelab

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Access the most powerful time series database as a service
  • SonarQube - Static code analysis for 29 languages.
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • Nginx Proxy Manager

Docker container for managing Nginx proxy hosts with a simple, powerful interface

I now run web servers in Docker using the NGINX Proxy Manager (also in a container) as the front end and just use a cheap domain name host (was using a DDNS provider for domain names but went to a static IP last year). Many many sites offer free domain names (normally as a 'third level' or subdomain of their name e.g. yoursite.dnsprovidersname.com etc)

  • Apache

Mirror of Apache HTTP Server. Issues: http://issues.apache.org

I've run Apache / Lighttpd and NGINX on Pis before with no issues - Apache is the heaviest in disk / memory / cpu but that is normal TBH no matter what the chipset :-)

  • InfluxDB

Access the most powerful time series database as a service. Ingest, store, & analyze all types of time series data in a fully-managed, purpose-built database. Keep data forever with low-cost storage and superior data compression.
