homebrew-cask-upgrade
A command line tool for upgrading every outdated app installed by Homebrew Cask
Install other apps from Homebrew. That's discussed in other comments here and around the web. You can «adopt» an app you already have with homebrew. Ex., if you have Firefox installed, you run brew install --adopt firefox and homebrew will start managing it for you.
There’s also https://max.codes/latest/ which is free and decent, but obviously I prefer MacUpdater.
True, and there's an issue for that: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/issues/89497
