  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • Chocolatey

Chocolatey - the package manager for Windows

  • With chocolatey, an approach similar to the one in Linux became available to Windows. And as I just see today - thanks to your post, the project includes entries for MiKTeX, TeXMaker, and TeXStudio, too.

  • unetbootin

UNetbootin installs Linux/BSD distributions to a partition or USB drive

  • With an otherwise empty usb thumb drive, I created the analogue of a bootable DVD with unetbootin. After a check if the bios allows to boot from the usb port, boot from this usb. The performance will be a bit less than an installation on the hard disk (transfer from the thumb drive, etc); but because all you see then lives on the working memory of the computer, you can work without a change to your current installation - simply log-off, reboot (the thumb drive retracted), and you are back to your initial state. And if you don't like Linux Mint, distrowatch likely has a Linux you might give a try then. Just let unetbootin know which .iso to process now.
