I say "could use" because, when Rust tried to deploy this optimization at scale, they exposed bugs in LLVM, and they have yet to enable the optimization by default. I wonder if this means the restrict keyword is similarly busted in Clang. https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/54878.
