I created Killed by Google, so I follow news related to all kinds of Google products. Unfortunately, this is a reality that many academic institutions are facing over the next few years as their agreements with Google are up for renewal. Google recently changed pricing that makes this type of indefinite account access unsustainable. I can't blame any university for opting to remove accounts from non-active students & staff.
