Release Engineering Is Exhausting So Here's cargo-dist

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/rust

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • cargo-dist

    📦 shippable application packaging

  • Although it runs perfectly fine in not-CI, it's just that cross-compilation is a mess I'm not touching yet so getting platform coverage really needs "spin up a bunch of machines" (It's on the todo list pending evaluation of the current options, would love for cross-compilation experts to chime in here).

  • cargo-xwin

Cross compile Cargo project to Windows MSVC target with ease

  • I couldn't tell you the licensing implications but the cargo-zigbuild developer also made cargo-xwin: https://github.com/rust-cross/cargo-xwin

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • cargo-auditable

    Make production Rust binaries auditable

  • Would you be open to integrating cargo auditable into this pipeline in some form? It seems like a great match.

  • crates.io

    The Rust package registry

  • You're right that publish=false is a good hint, although I could imagine someone not wanting to publish to crates.io but still wanting to publish to a prerelease or something on Github.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
