Bartosz Milewski's 'Category Theory for Programmers' unofficial PDF and LaTeX source
On a seperate note, I was curious about the relationship between functors in the OOP context and functorsin their much older mathematical sense, as maps between categories. It seemed to me that the naming couldn't just be a coincidence and there had to be some subtle analogy I was missing; after all, category theoretic concepts do show up in some programming languages (e.g. Haskell). As far as I can tell, though, there isn't, and the nomenclature really is just a coincidence. I ran into this stack post, where user mip points out that the two names have no relationship and functors are more aptly called function objects in OOP contexts when there is possibility for confusion.
