I was proud of myself for figuring out how to make rsync report progress. Sent a pic to my dad and in all seriousness he says, “does it send an update to your phone”?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/linux

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • ntfy

Send push notifications to your phone or desktop using PUT/POST

    You could try https://ntfy.sh/

  • plugins

Plugins and shell scripts for integrating 3rd party tools with FileBot (by filebot)

A bit unrelated and it's not open source, but if you have a lot of media files and the file naming conventions bother you, I recommend Filebot to format and rename everything, it's a godsend. I think it costs money now, but if you do a lot of turning it's worth it.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • Healthchecks

Open-source cron job and background task monitoring service, written in Python & Django

If you're really interested in something like that, it's pretty easy. Just use something like healthchecks.io, cronitor or cronhub.
