React core team on the recommended way to build with react

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/reactjs

Our great sponsors
  • SurveyJS - Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • create-react-app

Set up a modern web app by running one command.

  • Look at the most recent code change, the 5.0.1 release. It's simply a maintenance release and fixes a few bugs. This was almost a year ago, which is quite long in the JS world. We're not writing Rust where things are infinitely backward compatible (and even that has outdated packages). Other PRs are not being merged either, except for documentation ones.

  • Next.js

    The React Framework

  • nextjs is run by a company who raised 150M and has 2.5B market valuation. It is their business model to "care". Despite this they still have 1.2k issues. I filed real bugs with repos in nextjs, maybe its just me but I don't see anyone care enough to comment on them despite their resources: https://github.com/vercel/next.js/issues/44347 CRA is maintained by volunteers who does it on their spare time.

  • SurveyJS

Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App. With SurveyJS form UI libraries, you can build and style forms in a fully-integrated drag & drop form builder, render them in your JS app, and store form submission data in any backend, inc. PHP, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js.
