  4. awesomewm-config

RAVEN2CZ: AwesomeWM Configuration, Libraries and Themes.

my guides and project here: https://github.com/raven2cz/awesomewm-config

  5. blackboxwm

    A window manager for X11

I loved Blackbox's configuration, however it's been deprecated in favor of Openbox, which is WAY less friendly. BB has a modern fork which works for the most part, but expect corner-cases.

  6. i3

A tiling window manager for X11

i3 is probably the most well-documented and well-supported, and has a pretty simple configuration syntax.

  7. ly

A lightweight TUI (ncurses-like) display manager for Linux and BSD (mirror of https://codeberg.org/fairyglade/ly).

In general, it's tough to go too wrong, and with a good display manager you should be able to switch between them painlessly for experimenting with. (I like ly for a minimal setup!)
