  • Typesense

Open Source alternative to Algolia + Pinecone and an Easier-to-Use alternative to ElasticSearch ⚡ 🔍 ✨ Fast, typo tolerant, in-memory fuzzy Search Engine for building delightful search experiences

There was a lot of internal struggle on what to use honestly, but I found Typesense to be the best "database" with my tests.

  • quickwit

Cloud-native search engine for observability. An open-source alternative to Datadog, Elasticsearch, Loki, and Tempo.

How'd you go about scraping the transcripts? I wrote this with QuickWit as the search backend a few months ago and it worked well. The only thing I found annoying was getting the transcripts for all of the vods in a playlist. I jury rigged some go to use yt-dlp to grab transcripts individually but it took dozens of minutes to several hours for a whole playlist/channel. Once I had the transcript files I pushed them into the search index with timestamps and a URL to the timestamped vod the transcript corresponds to.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
