Day 23: CI using timescaledb a PostgreSQL based time series database

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on dev.to

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • timescaledb

The timescaledb gem. Pack of helpers to work with TimescaleDB extension in Ruby. (by jonatas)

As always I started by cloning the timescaledb git repository.

  • Then I created an example PostgreSQL as a service in GitHub Actions

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • TimescaleDB

An open-source time-series SQL database optimized for fast ingest and complex queries. Packaged as a PostgreSQL extension.

Slowly I understood that instead of a vanilla PostgreSQL database I need to use to use Timescale which is based on PostgreSQL. I am sure others would have come to this conclusion much faster than I did.
