Recently Plex started to change the background art — all of which I had manually selected — for my shows completely by itself, without my approval, and without any sort of warning or notification.

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/PleX

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • Radarr

Movie organizer/manager for usenet and torrent users.

A note to this though, there is currently a "bug" in Radarr which, when files are being upgraded to a higher quality. Radarr will remove the local assets for some reason. this is a long-standing issue and no one seems to be bothered by it or getting it fixed.

  • Plex-Meta-Manager

Python script to update metadata information for items in plex as well as automatically build collections and playlists. The Wiki Documentation is linked below.

When you want to change more than just the images you might want to look into the Plex-Meta-Manager. I haven't used it for that purpose so you might need to try if that is what you are looking for (if you need it).

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.
