I have never used air, but if you check out their example config, you'll see that the cmd key is just a plain shell command. Casual source inspection indicates that this is indeed passed directly to the shell with sh -c or cmd /c , so you should be able to simply replace the build command you have there with whatever you'd run on the shell, like
