Project mention: Ask HN: What are the fundamental diffs between modern web vs. desktop UI models | news.ycombinator.com | 2021-11-23
@drowe859's answer was excellent.
The only thing I'd add is that there's _thousands_ of freely available React components, including dozens of implementations of the kinds of widgets you listed (treeviews, specific form input types, etc). Sometimes they're available as a one-off lib [0], a small focused lib with a few specific components [1] [2], or a giant kitchen sink lib with dozens or hundreds of components [3] [4] [5] [6].
So, those _do_ exist, and in a similar sense to Qt or Gtk.

Thirdly, right now your code is not declared as async although an api call in the real world always takes a fair amount of time. So I'd make this composable async or put everything into an async function which returns a promise. I'm quite a fan of everything "posva" (Eduardo, core member) does. Besides the vue-router and Pinia (the new Vuex) he's created vue-promised which I use a lot. It easily allows you to easily setup a loading status, too.

It's using the addon libraries that do not work. P5's default library is fine. When trying to add the sound library, for example, you'll get errors such as 'p5 is not defined in sound.js'. It is best explained in this github issue but none of these proposed solutions work. Neither do any anywhere else as far as I can tell. https://github.com/P5-wrapper/react/issues/61
