Project mention: Does anyone have Just Cause 2 working? | | 2022-07-25

I managed to get this running in NixOS with the following steps. 1. Replace 'JustCause2.exe' with DRM free crack. 2. Try to launch Just Cause 2 Multiplayer at least once (it will fail) 3. run protontricks 259080 d3dcompiler_43 d3dx10 winxp vcrun2005 win7. d3dcompiler_43 and d3d3x10 are required since wine's d3dcompiler has issues parsing Just Cause 2's shaders. vcrun2005 is required since's msvcr80 throws an exception (it has to be installed with wine configured as winxp, see The game also won't run unless you have winvista+, so the command also sets the wine configuration back to win7. I ran into a few issues where the game would crash, but it probably wouldn't be too hard to fix if I spent more time debugging. Overall, it seems pretty playable with these tweaks.
