Project mention: What is the current status of Akka in your organisation? | | 2023-03-03

The whole point I was making is at least up until 8 months ago (at best, I can't commend on the stability/maturity/performance of shardcake) Akka was the only mature library/ecosystem solving this problem with also a very strong focus on performance (for example still to this day, akka/pekko-grpc is generally one of the fastest grpc implementations I am aware of, its even beating rust if you have at least 2 cores (see

  • InfluxDB

Access the most powerful time series database as a service. Ingest, store, & analyze all types of time series data in a fully-managed, purpose-built database. Keep data forever with low-cost storage and superior data compression.

  • dbench

Benchmark Kubernetes persistent disk volumes with fio: Read/write IOPS, bandwidth MB/s and latency (by leeliu)

Project mention: Storage provisioner for self-created clusters in 2022, for disk-heavy workload like MySQL? | | 2022-04-25

Perhaps this might be true for i3.2xlarge or larger machines, but for smaller VMs these were the results I got. My setup was 3 masters - 6 workers (2vCPUs - 4GBs RAM). You can try it yourself with dbench and see what you get.

  • service-mesh-benchmark

  • logs-benchmark

Logs performance benchmark repo: Comparing Elastic, Loki and SigNoz

Project mention: Elastic vs Loki vs SigNoz : A Performance Benchmark of self hosted & open source logging platforms | | 2023-02-21

Did you update the benchmark after you got feedback from this user at Hacker News or after you got the feedback that including Loki here is kinda pointless?

  • kbench

    Benchmark your Kubernetes storage.

    Project mention: Longhorn alternatives | | 2023-01-13

From your post history, it looks like you're using RPis, in which case the intrinsic latency of the USB controller is starting you off on the wrong foot. etcd doesn't like latency > 10ms. Have you tested your setup with kbench or something similar?
