A docker sidecar container to forward all traffic to local docker host or any other hostProject mention: Run MongoDB Atlas locally for testing | dev.to | 2021-02-26
All good, but to build a cluster of more than one node MongoDB requires that "each member of a replica set is accessible by way of resolvable DNS or hostnames". If you run Docker version 18.03+ on hosts like Mac and Win or Docker 20.04+ on Linux, you are free to use the special DNS name host.docker.internal. During installation Docker might add it to your OS host file. However, for those who cannot upgrade their Docker for some reason, we can employ a special container which redirects traffic to the host, for instance Qoomon docker-host. Similarly, we can add dockerhost to the OS host file and also run the container with NET_ADMIN and NET_RAW kernel capabilities.

A personal Bitcoin and Lightning node designed for everyoneProject mention: Plugging in screen to Raspbery pi does nothing | reddit.com/r/getumbrel | 2021-04-10
You potentially could flash the SD card with the full Raspberry Pi OS with desktop image and then deploy umbrel on top of that. Though that's not the recommended deployment method and most likely will negatively impact performance of the umbrel services overall so YMMV.

A self-hosted, open-source Platform as a Service that enables easy swarm deployments, load balancing, automatic SSL, metrics, analytics and more.Project mention: RIP Flynn.io | news.ycombinator.com | 2021-02-28
I'm working on a self-hosted, open source PaaS called Swarmlet. I really like Dokku, but I needed something that's a bit more scalable to my needs.
The installer is currently broken, I simply don't have enough time / bandwidth right now to work on it unfortunately.
That said, if you want to contribute, please let me know! I hope to get things running again soon.

But let's do this differently: Look at https://github.com/guessi/docker-compose-grafana-influxdb, clone that. It contains a working docker-compose.yaml. I used that initially and changed things later on (e.g. add a renderer).

A single container version of Appwrite with minimum must have features ⚖️ (by appwrite)Project mention: Self Hosted Firebase Alternative | reddit.com/r/selfhosted | 2021-03-22
Hi, Appwrite engineer here. You may find inspiration in Appwrite Lite, which dials back on Docker, and instead runs most of the microservices architecture under supervisord. I'd start there to deploy the stack with Ansible instead. The only hiccup I can predict is with cloud functions, as the codebase is now.

A flaw in that setup, was that although clients could connect to stand-alone nodes of the replica set, they could not connect to the replica set as a whole, as reported by this issue on the github repository.
