  • GitHub repo substrate

Substrate: The platform for blockchain innovators

  • GitHub repo ink

Parity's ink! to write smart contracts (by paritytech)

Project mention: Explain it to me like I’m 5: in one sentence what is polkadot? | reddit.com/r/dot | 2021-09-02

There is a contracts pallet in the substrate framework that allows parachains to run smart contracts uploaded to the blockchain, it’s built in rust and compiles to wasm. Though it’s not a priority for polkadot as a framework, parachains can already write, run and deploy smart contracts and run them against their blockchain. It’s quite over looked as it’s not promoted much but it’s their https://github.com/paritytech/ink.

  • Scout APM

  • GitHub repo Astar

The dApp Hub for blockchains of the future

    Project mention: Why doesn't Shiden/Astar get more love compared to Moonriver/Moonbeam? | reddit.com/r/dot | 2021-11-09

Astar's homepage on the other hand shows that they offer a much broader set of features. EVM support, Solidity and interoperability with Ethereum is a given, but they also already support the Cosmos chains which is huge since that means Kava, Thorchain and Cosmos Hub, etc. will all be able to bridge to Astar, and bridges to other networks are in the works. On top of that they enable the Substrate Plasma Framework for WASM smart contracts, which is a huge plus in my book as I'm a fan of languages like C# and Rust.

  • GitHub repo open-runtime-module-library

  • GitHub repo Polkadex

An Orderbook-based Decentralized Exchange using the Substrate Blockchain Framework.

Project mention: The need for decentralized exchanges in increasing. And individuals are convinced more than ever. | reddit.com/r/CryptoMarkets | 2021-10-25

You should check out Polkadex. They are building a proper orderbook-based DEX (not AMM-based like all DEXes so far) on the Polkadot ecosystem which will be able to access all the assets that other Polkadot projects provide bridges to (so, like, all of them). They also have a fiat on-ramp and futures+margins+options on the roadmap. I think they have absolutely the right idea and they, or something like them, will take the currently unfilled spot as THE DEX.

  • GitHub repo bifrost

A parachain focused on building bridges of chains based on PoS consensus.

Project mention: Polkadot Parachain Auctions Are Now Live On Kraken | reddit.com/r/CoinMarketCap | 2021-11-26

  • GitHub repo subsocial-node

Subsocial full node with Substrate/Polkadot pallets for decentralized communities: blogs, posts, comments, likes, reputation.

Project mention: Decentralization Ideas for the Internet by Subsocial | reddit.com/r/Crypto_Citadel | 2021-11-20

What happened to the Internet after the arrival of mega-corporations with their social networks and web platforms? The Internet has lost its decentralization, which means users have lost their freedom. Our data doesn't belong to us. Where once we could put a homepage on our own computer, now we give all our data to the Internet giants. In addition, as the Internet has evolved, governments and corporations have taken an interest in it, which has created problems of political censorship and copyright restrictions. Our pages in social networks can be banned and removed if the content does not correspond to some rules of the social network; an inadvertent post can lead to administrative or even criminal liability. More and more people are saying that we urgently need to bring back decentralization. And such work is being actively carried out by various teams. One of which is the development team of the Subsocial Project! • GitHub repo sube

SUBmit Extrinsics to a Substrate chain

Project mention: RPC codes for getting states relating to a pallet directly from a node? | reddit.com/r/dot | 2021-08-09

Not a straightforward curl friendly HTTP as you can see, if you control the code of the chain of course you can create a custom rpc endpoint that returns what you want. To avoid having to know the types of the data you are querying in advance future versions of the chains will come with a type registry in their metadata that describes the types of the runtime which is something polkadot.js will exploit and I'm also exploring in the first release(Kusama treasury sponsored ❤️) of Sube to do those kind of queries possible in a simple way.
